Congratulations on your purchase of high quality One-Step Running Boards from Aero-Tec. One-Steps are designed and engineered to install easily, look great, and provide years of vehicle protection and dependable use.

The following instructions will guide you through the steps required to install these running boards on your vehicle quickly and easily. For a more in-depth illustration, view the enclosed “Installation Made Easy” Video.

Your One-Step Boards are ready for installation in a high gloss black finish. However, if you have decided to have them painted to match the color of your vehicle, the painting process should be completed prior to installation.

Note: Installation can be completed without the use of a commercial hoist. A few vehicles are particularly low to the ground and may require the use of safety approved ramps. Installations are typically performed in driveways or garages.

Tools Required:

  • Screw Gun or Variable Speed Drill
  • 5/16” Hex Head Bit
  • 1/2” Wrench or Socket
  • 2 pair Locking Pliers (helpful but not required)

Contents of this Kit:

  • 2 Running Boards (Universal Driver or Passenger)
  • 4 Support Brackets with Bolt Pack, containing self-tapping tek-head screws
  • 2 Full-Length Non-Skid Step Pads
  • 2 Aero-Tec Logos

Step 1.
Determine Where the Running Board Should be Positioned on Your Vehicle.
There are three key factors in determining correct placement:

  • The location of the board from front wheel well to rear wheel well is one of personal choice relative to your particular vehicle.
  • Solid contact with the bottom of the rocker panel allowing ample room for the attachment of screws.
  • Making certain that the step area of the board is level.

For this step, locking pliers may prove helpful and the process is even simpler if you ask a friend or family member to assist you.

Temporarily Hold the Board in Desired Position.
This may be accomplished with the use of locking pliers, a floor jack or simply held in place by hand to accommodate the next step.

Step 2.
Determine Positioning of the Support Bracket.
Examine the diagram below to see how the running boards and support bracket will attach. There are various adjustments to the support bracket:

  • The height of the bracket is adjustable.
  • Optional holes for running board attachment exist in the bracket base.
  • The hanger strap may be mounted to either the inside or the outside of the bracket by using a longer 1 1/4” carriage bolt.

Each board is supported by 2 brackets. They are to be placed toward each end of the board. With the board positioned as described in Step 1., determine the best location for each bracket under your vehicle. Select locations that will best support weight and that are the most accessible for actual attachment. (continued on Page 2)
